Reprodective system of Labeo Rohita :
Female reproductive system of labeo consists of two parts
(1) Ovaries: There is one pair of highly elongated whitish ovaries which extend the entire length of abdominal cavity. Each ovary is suspended from dorsal body wall by a mesentery called mesovarium.
(i) Oviducts: There are two long hollow and tubular oviducts present along the inner border of the
Ovary. They join at their lower end and open outside on mid-ventral side just in front of anus by
a single female genital aperture.
MALE REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM OF LABEO
Male reproductive system of labeo consists of two parts:
(1) Testes: A pair of long sized pinkish, coloured testes are present extending the entire length of abdominal cavity. Each testis is suspended by a mesenteric structure called mesorchium, from dorsal body wall.
(ii) Sperm duct : There are two elongated, thin walled tubular structures present along inner border of the testes. They join at their lower ends and open externally by a common male genital aperture present in front of anus on mid-ventral side of body.
